Michael has served as the Tobacco Free Putnam Partnership Chair since 2019. He is the District Lead Counselor for the Putnam County School District. He is a valued member of our community and finds fun and creative solutions to addressing the needs of both our youth and adults.

MEETINGS & EVENTS
The Tobacco Free Putnam Partnership typically meets every other month, on the first Wednesday at 10:30 am. Meetings are open to the public, and guests are welcome! For more information, please contact us at TobaccoFreePutnam@gmail.com.

Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) meetings are held at Putnam Academy and Interlachen Jr/Sr High School every Friday mornings at 7:45am.

SWAT mobilizes and equips youth to protect their generation from the tobacco and vaping industries. Putnam County SWAT members build leadership skills and plan activities to help raise awareness and support for policies that benefit the community

SWAT Advisor
Donna Scapellati is the SWAT Advisor for Putnam Academy of Arts and Sciences.
I have been a middle school teacher for 23 years. It has always saddened me to run into past students out in public and find out they smoke. I feel if we can educate students at a young age about the harm of tobacco and vaping, we might see more people decide not to pick it up in the first place. I have been a part of SWAT since I started teaching at Putnam Academy of Arts and Sciences and in that time have learned a great deal and have enjoyed sharing with my students. It develops a bond that will never be broken when you work side-by-side with youth for really good causes. I only wish I had started earlier.
Youth Advisory Board (YAB) Member
Mackenzie Donnelly serves as our Statewide SWAT youth advocate for Putnam County.
Hi! My name is Mackenzie Donnelly and I am a high schooler in Putnam County and have been part of SWAT since 2019. I have presented to local commissioners, conducted outreach events, and I now serve on the Statewide board for SWAT and present to youth around Florida in Statewide SWAT calls and Regional SWAT meetings. I also work with other Board members from across the state to come up with ideas for county clubs, centered around our Anti-Tobacco holidays.
This is my last year in SWAT and I currently serve as Co-Chair for SWAT's Youth Advocacy Board and am one of 16 youth in the State selected to serve. This is my fourth year serving on the YAB, where I conduct weekly calls with my YAB peers, participate/present in monthly Statewide SWAT calls, host and facilitate Region 2 SWAT meetings and Statewide SWAT meetings.
